Austin City Limits

ACL continues. I have a terrible sunburn. A splitting head ache. Sore legs and back. Next year I'm not going to shoot this silly festival. And if I do I'm only going to shoot evening acts. The light is better then anyways.

Earmites

Poor Mr. Dexter has earmites! This is the second time. He doesn't seem to mind so much when I'm putting the drops in and q-tipping his ears, but he sure does pout up a storm afterwards. I can't help but laugh at him. He's just such a ham.

Amanset

At long last this cover comes out. Looks pretty good. They look a bit peaved... but thats ok.

I'm much more excited about next weeks cover because it has a photo of my #1 A+ crush the boy from arcade fire. He's sooo dreamy!!!

I got another bad hair cut today. Usaully I don't care, but todays was really expensive. Nothings worse than an expensive bad haircut.

The Dump

There is a game preserve at the texas disposal systems. it's pretty neat.

Assisting

I did some assisting for Michael O'Brien this weekend. The class was pretty interesting, but I already knew most of the stuff we went over. I'd say the most helpful things I learned were about the gel filters. I've been meaning to look into those and he did a nice job of teaching the class what the different ones do. They are really going to enhance my strobe work!

Cindy Sheehan

Grandma asked me to go to the Cindy Sheehan "Bring them home now" protest because she is too old to be in the heat or to walk very far with out her wheel chair. Yesturday was her 86 birthday. Meaning she stole 16 years from someone else...

So being the good grandchind that I am I went to the protest. And being the good blogger that I am I took my camera... although more than once (i use a really big camera and take tons of gear) people asked me who I was shooting for and I would just tell them my blog (this is my favorite answer to this question. i often use it even when i'm shooting for big magazines). it usually is met with chuckles or confused looks.

Anyways. Not sure what i think about cindy. hopefully she'll do some good. i'm guessing she's going to write a book and go on some speaking tours when shes done. we'll see.

My Secret Brother

Went to a peace ralley last night and a familair voice said my name ... when i turned around my big brother ane he was GRINNING at me and telling me to take his pictures. Such an odd bird he is. We lived together for years before he moved in with his girlfriend. Glenn is by far the strangest and in some ways most tortured person i've ever met. But it was nice to see him. We didn't get along very well when we were kids. I was hopelessly nerdy and he was really preppy and cool. His friends tried a few times to get me to ditch the geek routine - stop wearing the glasses and polyester and become part of the in crowd, but i was too antisocial/awkward/tall/thin/goofy to pull it off. So if any of y'all were wondering what my brother looks like. ... here he is. Also of note this is about the 5th photo i've taken of him in my entire life.
