I've been spending countless hours thinking about furniture and flooring and playing with numbers to see how much I can spend. It is going to be so nice to move out of the old house I've been working in and have my own space. I love it because it's funky and HIP! The location is amazing. I'm on S. Lamar a block from Birds Barbershop.

Happy Birthday Hanna!!!!

Yea! Hanna's birthday party at the Austin Children's Museum could not have been more fun. Of course I am the only one who is not a child and does not have a child, but that didn't stop me from eating a cupcake covered in 1.5 inches of frosting. YUMMY!

Ro and Olivia Engagement

Today was a special day! I got to photograph my very old family friends engagement photos at Mayfield Park. Ro was my brothers best friend in Jr. High and High School. :) Oh and Vance is just too cute. I can't wait to see how sharp he looks in his little tux at the wedding.

Deer

There are so many deer in my 'hood. Last night I spent hours driving around looking at them and taking pictures. These were my favorite two.

AC Troubles

Disco and I watched Scott install the new thermostat last night. The old one stopped working when they installed the new central air conditioner. We used Blackmon Mooring to install the new AC. They charged us WAY too much for the AC unit, but we had to purchase it because we'd already gone almost a week with no AC and it was only going to get hotter outside. Unbelievably despite us paying them more than $4000 for the new unit they did not put in a new thermostat!! Because it was a Friday when they put it in we had to wait until MONDAY for them to come and install a new one. They were going to charge us $300+ to put the new one in. We ended up getting a new one at Home Depot and installing it ourselves. It cost $30 and took about 10 minutes. If you are in the market for a new HVAC I don't suggest using Blackmon Mooring.

Wedding Photography Booth

I'm wedding gaga. I LOVE looking at everything related to weddings and being a wedding vendor. On the Austin Wedding Guide they have photos of all of the vendor booths. I pulled all of the photographer ones and added them to my Flickr stream. Interesting stuff!!

Wedding on the Hill

Photographed a personality plus wedding today and loved it! There are so many more photos I'd love to share from this one. As a wedding photographer I like to get all of the beauty shots, but I also like the to keep true to my WPJA roots and do the photojournalism thing.

Beth and Tom

Beth and Tom got their wedding at the Earl-Harrison House in Waco. This was my first wedding at this venue and it knocked my socks off + and I lost my cell phone. :) It was a WONDERFUL wedding. My only complaint was the alarming number of mosquitoes! Deet frightens me so my only recourse was trying to smash. Bleck. BTW the apples on the tables made for a wonderful addition of green sans flowers.

Devon and Ryan

A wedding to remember for sure! One of the groomsmen had food poisoning from the night before so we had to zoom through the formals. Not to mention he looked GREEN standing on the alter during the ceremony. This was the first time we've done a wedding at the Sanctuary. The getting ready spaces are so cute, but the sanctuary at the Sanctuary is a tricky place to take pictures! The ambient light and the overhead lights are at odds in terms of color temperature. We got some great shots, but it wasn't easy. The reception was at the Fed now called The Mansion. Next time I shoot there I need to remember to bring my ladder. The floor and walls are so much prettier than the ceiling. We have never had a couple that gave us so many compliments before we've delivered the photos. The kindness of both Devon and Ryan and there guests was almost overwhelming! It is so nice to have an open group of people work with. :)

Satya Rose, My First Niece

Meet the newest addition to the Sledd family my brothers daugther Satya Rose. She was born on Friday at 5pm. She was 8 pounds and 7 ounces and was 20 inches long. She's pretty cute. We won't get to see her until she comes to Austin for a visit in August.

Offbeat Bride

One of my friends sent me this website today and it's so cute I had to share. http://offbeatbride.com/ . The site has lots of great ideas to make your wedding unique! Some of the suggestions are a little far off the beaten path, but I appreciate the spirit!
