Oh look! It's Mary Beth and Mike!!! I photographed their wedding a couple a months ago. :) I love it when I get bride to bride referrals.



BRRRR!!!!! It was literally freezing this entire wedding, but the show must go on. Kim looked lovely in her formal brown dress (who says you have to wear white!). The wedding was at the Zilker Clubhouse which is one of my favorite venues in town. When I get married it will be at the top of my list. Dates are very hard to get but the venue fee is only $200 and you can bring in all of your own catering/alcohol.

Teddy is HERE!!!

Meet my new puppy - Teddy! It took me four months to find the puppy that was just right for me. He's a wonderful red merle Australian Shepherd with green eyes. He is VERY smart (he can already sit and fetch) and he is SOOO sweet. Gregor (the older wiser Aussie in the house) isn't crazy about him, but I have high hopes that they will become friends. In the photo above my horses Ruthie and Penny are giving him a through sniff. :)

Thanks for this photo Roxanne. Must admit I look pretty silly with all of my camera attachments. I've got the Fong and the wizard for setting off my other flashes... and the sink cord that goes to the camera> :)

Tiny People

I photographed little people today. They wiggle around much more than big people. The little one, Mattie, is just learning how to walk. Special!!!

Workshop

It's my birthday!!! I treated myself to a workshop by Doug Gordon the "inventor" of Flow Posing. Must say I was not too impressed. The way he talked about taking as much money as he could from brides and selling prints instead of files just seems sort of slimy. The part made me the MOST unhappy is that he is opening a satalite office for his company Patken Photography in Austin and he had secret shoppers help him get EVERYONES PRICE LISTS. He said he's using the lists to talk brides into using him by showing where other photographers are trying to rip them off. For the record the only even remotely "hidden" fee on my price list is sales tax...and there is a line at the bottom of the price list with two Astrix that says prices are pre-sales tax.

As for flow posing... I'm just going to stick with what I've been doing. I'll never be able to remember all of those steps and I don't think it'll make me a better photographer.

Good news is my hunky boyfriend is taking me out to dinner at Wink tonight. YUMMY.

Wedding Photo

Lately I've been doing photo jobs every day. I'm getting a better hold of the medium but suffering from lack of creativity because I worry to much about getting "shots" and I don't strive for "amazing shots".

This is a wedding photo from this weekend. I think it is an amazing shot! It isn't totally sharp and it has a lot going on, but I love it!!!

I've been working endlessly of late. This is a photo I thought was cute! One of these days I'll go back and do some retro-blogging. The jobs I've been getting lately have been very cool and I will share more details soon. I should have a day or two off this week (first days off in months) so I"ll have time to blog it up!!!
