How dare you talk about switching! ;)

I'm surprised all those L lenses don't just walk out your door at that kind of talk...

The day that Nikon announced the D3, I was taking photos of all my gear to list it on fleabay. It's like they could hear my tears. Still waiting for my D3, though.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12970007.post-52567697599666226112007-12-12T19:56:00.000-08:002007-12-12T19:56:00.000-08:00Canon. Although I am not a professional, I'd like to get a better SLR at the least and I haven't decided whether to go Nikon or Canon...ore even some other brand. Good Luck!Future Doctorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05579094295640899120noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12970007.post-59690745573563337912007-12-11T22:12:00.000-08:002007-12-11T22:12:00.000-08:00Well, we're talking about a three stop difference ...Well, we're talking about a three stop difference "on" the camera.

from 3200 you jump to: 6400...12,8...25,6

When you get into those high range ISOs, the Nikon is pre-processing the images for Noise Reduction and it's not always pretty.

I can do that with my current 30D and LightRoom or other RAW process/conversion software "out" of the camera.

I'll keep using the glass I like.

I would never jump systems this quick. There are lots of other issues to deal with besides ISO (and I shoot in extremely low light much of the time).

Of course, if given a good enough reason I'll make a big change. But I can pull my three extra stops on my own terms. And I haven't had any repair issues yet.

I left Nikon for a reason. And I'll got back when it makes sense.Ed Veroskyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00957763880782077667noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12970007.post-41993667379423015062007-12-11T13:53:00.000-08:002007-12-11T13:53:00.000-08:00I may or may not be the friend switching to Nikon,...I may or may not be the friend switching to Nikon, but I do have six really sweet Canon lenses for sale right now :-))))David Hillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09860793556200815037noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12970007.post-80449606671766897132007-12-10T20:03:00.000-08:002007-12-10T20:03:00.000-08:00Mary, I have the D3 and, you're right, it is soooo...Mary, I have the D3 and, you're right, it is soooo badass at ISO of 24600.
